Unpackaged stores ‘Stückgut’: Joachim Büttner provisional insolvency administrator

Hamburg, August 1, 2022: The Hamburg Local Court has appointed attorney Joachim Büttner from BRRS Rechtsanwälte as provisional insolvency administrator in the insolvency proceedings concerning the assets of Stückgut Einzelhandel GmbH.

Among other things, the provisional administrator is to clarify the existence of the grounds for insolvency. Business operations in the stores in Ottensen and St. Pauli are currently continuing as planned, with employees’ salaries secured by insolvency benefits.

Sale of unpackaged goods points the way to the future

Joachim Büttner: “It would be great if the stores could be continued in the long term, as the idea of buying everyday goods with as little packaging as possible is appropriate and forward-looking. I hope that the existing customers will remain loyal to the business and perhaps new customers can be acquired.”

Search for investors underway

The provisional insolvency administrator is looking for investors and is examining restructuring options, including a transferring restructuring. Talks with potential takeover candidates have begun.
